Empowering Through Education: Umang Foundation’s ‘Sarva Siksha Abhiyan’
Umang Foundation, Ganeshpura, embarked on a significant campaign for ‘Sarva Siksha Abhiyan’ from May 4th to May 6th, 2023, in the slum area of Losal/Ganeshpura, specifically targeting the Scheduled Tribe community. The campaign aimed to address the dire need for education among the illiterate children in the area, estimated to be around fifty in number.
With careful planning and the dedication of Umang Foundation and its volunteers, necessary arrangements were made to ensure these children had access to education. A comprehensive plan was put in place for their educational journey, which included the following steps:
(a) Admission of the children in the Government Middle School, Ganeshpura, located approximately 3 kilometers away, in the upcoming session starting from July 2023.
(b) Distribution of essential textbooks and study materials to the children in July 2023, enabling them to engage actively in their learning process.
(c) Provision of additional classes at their residence to supplement their education, ensuring they receive the support needed to succeed academically.
As a result of the concerted efforts of Umang Foundation, Ganeshpura, and its dedicated volunteers, seven children have already been successfully admitted to the Government Middle School, Ganeshpura. The remaining children will be actively pursued for admission in July 2023, with the aim of providing them with equal opportunities for education.
